DESIGNER GARMENT ALTERATIONS & RECONSTRUCTION

At BOROVSKIH Atelier, we carried out a comprehensive alteration and reconstruction of several designer garments for one client.

Each piece required careful adjustment to a smaller size and precise adaptation to the client’s figure, while preserving the original design, proportions and character of each garment.

The work included:

— Individual fitting to the figure
— Reshaping and waist adjustment
— Reducing the overall size
— Repositioning and altering zippers
— Resetting the sleeves following the size reduction
— Adjusting the armholes and shoulder line
— Restoring the correct proportions after alteration

Our goal was to ensure that, after reconstruction, each garment looked as though it had originally been made specifically for the client’s figure.

Working with designer garments requires not only precision, but also an in-depth understanding of garment construction, fabrics and couture techniques.

This Valentino dress underwent a serious alteration. As seen on the client, it was remade one size smaller. The waist was taken in and the shoulders were shortened.
