How It All Began: Lyubov Borovskih at ESMOD Dubai

Every brand has a beginning, and it is often earlier than it seems. This is the story of how Lyubov Borovskih came to fashion: from teaching herself to sew to studying at ESMOD Dubai, the French Fashion University.

Long before ESMOD

This was far from the beginning. Before ESMOD I was passionate about fashion and design, and I taught myself to sew from Burda magazines. I even helped my friends and relatives, and I even had clients!

A thirst for knowledge

But my thirst for knowledge in pattern-making, modelling and new, unusual projects gave me no peace. And I found a unique path: studying at the institute.

I thank the loved ones who helped me at that time.

A happy time full of events

The years at the institute were a happy time, rich in events. They gave me a great deal of enthusiasm and opened the fantasies that had been hidden deep inside me.

From sketch to mannequin to reality

At ESMOD I learned to express my fantasies: first in sketches, then on the mannequin, and then in real garments. This path from an idea to a finished piece is still at the heart of everything we make.

My first project

This was my very first project on a mannequin after just three months of studying at ESMOD Fashion Institute.

Looking at this creation today, I smile. It reflects my early experiments with form, volume, colour and theatrical expression — a time when I was discovering the language of fashion and learning to translate ideas into three-dimensional designs.

Years of study, practice and experience have shaped my aesthetic and my approach to couture. But every journey begins with the courage to create something for the first time.

Lectures that inspired

I was inspired by the lectures of a well-known fashion historian about fashion and the lives of famous designers. At that time they were given to the students by Alexander Vasiliev.

The student shows

Every year I gladly attended the shows of the young students of year 1, 2 and 3.

Where it led

Everything I have today — great experience, my own atelier, my own brand and couture collections, Royal Modern Couture and Candy Girl, beauty pageants, and new projects that I plan to show at an international level — is thanks to the knowledge I received at ESMOD and to my unstoppable desire to move forward, to delight and inspire people, because I want to make women even more beautiful and confident!
